    Vintage Neon Signs

Outdoorsman and photographer Tom Spaulding has put together a fabulous flickr set of over 800 vintage neon signs. The collection has a nice mix of day and night images, stylistic variety and the overall image quality is quite good.

The signs were located and photographed throughout Northern California.

    Walking Bike

There doesn’t appear to be much information about the concept or construction, but Max Knight’s walking bike is a rather interesting piece of industrial design.

    Johnny Swing

After viewing the impressive work of Johnny Swing, I’m not entirely sure how to categorize him. He appears to be part industrial designer, part architect, part furniture designer, part electrician and part fine artist.

His site features an interesting collection of unique work. The pieces have been carefully photographed from a variety of angles, and most include nice-sized detail shots. Pictured above is his Half Dollar / Butterfly Chair, which is made with 1,500 half dollars.

    MAMMA Rocking Chair

I haven’t spent much time posting about furniture design, but this chair was too beautiful to ignore. Industrial designer Patrick Messier created this rocking chair to look like a ribbon suspended in space, and is made from a single piece of fiberglass with a high gloss urethane finish.

If you like the design, you might want to save your pennies, as the price tag runs about 6K.
